#newyearfood
Nishiki tamago is one of the dishes that is part of osechi ryori, the traditional feast eaten during the first three days of the New Year in Japan. It is made from hard boiled eggs with the yolk and whites separated. The white symbolizes silver, while the yellow stands for gold; these slices of egg cake are meant to draw in wealth and prosperity.
